19th January 2022- Alum Rock- Birmingham


The Proud to Care team were invited by the West Midlands Combined Authority, to the East Birmingham Community Forum event at 73 Alum Rock road in Saltley, to discuss jobs and training opportunities in the health and social care sector with prospective job hunters.


The event gave our team the opportunity to match those who attended the event via appointment, to social care employers in the Birmingham area on our www.proud2.care website.


8th February 2022- Dudley Town Hall


This event was hosted by Dudley Council Adult Learning team, who hosted a health and social care specific jobs fair and invited the Proud to Care team to discuss opportunities one-to-one.


The team held a number of appointments throughout the day, presenting the www.proud2.care website and the vacancies available to job seekers, across the Dudley area.


As a result, there was evidently an increase in website visitors within the Dudley area, on the day of the event and during the days after, increasing the volume of likely job applicants for providers vacancies in Dudley.


9th March 2022- Walsall Academy


Walsall Academy hosted this careers fair for their students to learn about different careers on offer within the area of Walsall, including adult social care.


The Proud to Care team took the opportunity to discuss what a career in social care looks like, including pathways into the sector and the various job roles that students could work towards.


This was a fantastic opportunity for Proud to Care to encourage the next generation of workers into a career in adult social care and to ensure the students heard from experts in the sector to give them the most accurate information and reflection on our rewarding sector. 


23rd March 2022- Cadbury College- Birmingham



Our Proud to Care team continued the effort to develop the next generation of workers into adult social care by attending the careers fair at Cadbury College.


This was an exciting opportunity to discuss current health and social care students career prospects, providing our expert knowledge to the college's benefit.



Students were engaged and impressed with the wide scope of different types of jobs they could do in social care and were keen to learn more by visiting our Proud to Care website.


30th March 2022- Edgbaston Cricket Stadium

This jobs fair event took place at Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham and was hosted by Birmingham City Council, the West Midlands Combined Authority and Job Centre Plus.


This was for job seekers of all ages and had a wide range of attendees from different areas including Birmingham, Solihull, the Black Country and Coventry.


There was over 1000 attendees, who learnt about our Proud to Care campaign and a career in social care.


6th April 2022- Sandwell College- West Plaza Campus West Bromwich


The team attended this careers fair for adult learners who were leaving the college and were seeking jobs.


We had many health and social care students visit us, who expressed their interest in a career in care and were encouraged to visit our Proud2.care website to find out more and to talk to our members directly.


16th June 2022- Dudley Town Hall

The Proud to Care team were invited to exhibit at Dudley Councils social care jobs fair and managed to promote our members vacancies to 50+ job seekers.


The team were also able to network with Dudley College to discuss internships into the social care sector.


22nd June 2022- Molineux Stadium- Wolverhampton

The team attended this large scale jobs fair at the Molineux football stadium, where there were a variety of different sectors advertising roles.


Our team were able to discuss the benefits of a career in adult social care with job seekers, while encouraging them to visit our www.proud2.care website to see all the latest vacancies.


This was also an exciting opportunity for our team to promote our Jobmatch programme, where our team of 'Jobmatchers' work with job seekers and employers to match them together.


12th August 2022- Central Library Birmingham

The team partnered up with Skills for Care for this Skills and Jobs fair, hosted by DWP and Birmingham City Council.


We had the fantastic opportunity to host our own health and social care, 'myth-busting' seminar, where we were able to present about a career in health and social care to an engaged audience looking for jobs.



We presented to a total of 20 people over the course of the morning and took the opportunity to network with care providers throughout.


25th October 2022- Chapel Court Job Centre- Wolverhampton

The team were present at a Health and Social Care careers day at the Job Centre, alongside many care providers.


The Job Centre referred up to 25 candidates to our Job Match programme, enabling us to attempt to match them with our members job vacancies.


8th November 2022- The Way Youth Zone- Wolverhampton

The team were invited to exhibit at the Way Youth Zone, at a 18-29 careers fair event, put on by Wolverhampton City Council and the DWP.


We met around 100 job seekers throughout the day and managed to register 15 people to our Wolverhampton Job Match programme


6th December 2022- Oak Court Residential Care Home- Wolverhampton


Our Job Match team were invited by Wolves at Work to find staff at Oak Court Residential Care Home new roles, after the home closed and they had been made redundant.


Our Job Match team used our network to gather the latest available roles in the area to promote to the experienced care staff at Oak Court and were able to find a number of them new roles within the sector.


13th December 2022- Wolverhampton City College- Bilston Campus

The Proud to Care team were offered the opportunity to present to Health and Social Care students at Wolverhampton City College, Bilston Campus.


The team took the students through the various different roles they could pursue in the sector, while also doing some myth-busting through taking questions from students.


Students also became aware of our Proud to Care website and how they can use the website to apply for part-time roles, to go alongside their study.

With the staffing crisis across the sector, the Proud to Care team wanted to support our members that one step further by offering to run a careers fair for providers to attend to promote their vacancies to job seekers in-person.


Care providers and colleges exhbited over the day, offering care roles, health and social care diplomas, sector based work academy programmes (SWAPS), apprenticeships and internships, to show the public the various different pathways into a career in care.


The NHS Mental Health and Wellbeing hub also provided information on the health and wellbeing service offered to people who get into a career in care.
